The Association Babelia has been awarded grant funding by the UK Government to be one of the organizations that will support UK nationals to secure their residency status in Spain under the Withdrawal Agreement. Babelia is providing guidance and practical support to UK citizens living in the provinces of Alicante, Valencia and Castellón who may struggle to complete the administrative procedures during the transition period following the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union. This group may include the elderly and people with disabilities for example.

For UK Nationals holding the ‘Green Certificate’ (Certificado de Registro de Ciudadano de la Unión or Certificado UE), there are currently appointments available to ask for the new TIE (Tarjeta de identidad de extranjero) at: https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpplus/
Choose option: ‘POLICÍA-EXP.TARJETA ASOCIADA AL ACUERDO DE RETIRADA CIUDADANOS BRITÁNICOS Y SUS FAMILIARES (BREXIT)
All you will need to bring to the police are:

* Receipt of payment of the fee 790 (012) available at:

Choose option: ‘Certificado de registro de residente comunitario o Tarjeta de residencia de familiar de un ciudadano de la Unión’.
* Form EX 23, available at:

* Passport and photocopy of the identification page.
* Recent photo, Spanish ‘DNI’ size.
