Migrant Assistance Office
Objectives
Pangea Pego, Assistance Office for Migrants within the Town Hall of Pego, is part of the Network of Pangea Offices located in numerous municipalities in the Valencian Community. Its main objective is to promote intercultural coexistence among the different migrant groups and the host population.
Target group
The initiative aims at promoting the social inclusion of the migrant population by providing information and guidance on topics related to the access to all the available resources in the community, especially regarding the access to both public and private social resources in order to promote equal opportunities and intercultural coexistence.
Services provided
Advice and guidance is offered to the migrant population regarding access to public and community resources of the municipality of Pego (educational, labor, health, legal and social protection) in order to promote equal opportunities and intercultural coexistence.
In addition to offering personalized attention, the office facilitates linguistic mediations in Arabic, French, Bulgarian, English and Russian between newly arrived migrants in Pego and town hall technicians, school centers, health services and other public entities, including advice and technical support on issues related to workshop design dealing with legal matters, cultural keys, immigration and interculturality.
Human resources
The initiative is carried out by an intercultural mediator from the Association Babelia in continuous coordination with the community of municipalities in charge of providing social services, including municipal services, school centers, other public entities, associations and NGOs.
Location
Assistance to migrants is provided at the community of municipalities in charge of providing social services’ office (c/ Ramón y Cajal nº14) on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., preferably by appointment: 965 57 06 01.
Telephone assistance is offered on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: 613 15 18 76.
